Hi Lynn--Re today's strip (7/19/12). Not funny. As you know, ideas are funny when they're true. Organic farmers go to great lengths to cultivate their farms without resorting to poisons--a point to be celebrated, not mocked.

Funny, I've never encountered anyone who used 'farmer' in a derogatory way. The ones who are good at what they do deserve all the respect. 'Hick' might've been used as a derogatory term, but that was reserved for the types who made the same mistakes for decades, plowing under weeds and letting the livestock run wild and get injured.Molly S, Nova Scotia
Funny thing about Thursday's strip. Back when I was growing up in the country, we never used to call a guy whose fields were filled with weeds an organic farmer.
