Before you know it, it will be time to take Laura for all the fun and games. And I can hardly believe she is nearly one year old!

Now you will do just that in around two years.

Dorney Park is located close to us. It has grown from a small midway to something quite amazing, I have heard. When we were kids, my brother, next to me in age, would talk about it for weeks if a visit would be mentioned. He and my youngest brother adored all the rides. There is another, much smaller park named Knobles, which is more for small children and a great place to start them out. I'm 65 and we have no kids eithe to live vicariously through, so those days are gone.

When our daughter was about 4 years old, we lived in Phoenix, Arizona. The State Fair was on, and my husband, daughter and I went. We kept her in tow in a stroller. All day long, every time I needed to use the ladies' room, I would ask her if she needed to. "No" was always the answer. Finally around 5:00 I insisted she come in with me. She took longer than I did! I guess she was afraid she'd miss something!

It has taken me several days to formulate a comment for the 8-14 strip. The tone of the strip has become too condescending and verbally abusive towards Elly. The "Can't you take a joke?" strip of 8-14 will be the last time I read this comic. It really is no longer funny and brings back too many painful memories of my horrible marriage. When my marriage got to the point where I could "no longer take a joke", we ended up in counseling and I was advised to end the marriage in order to save myself. Maybe it's time to end the strip. Maybe it's time to take Elly back in her life to where she was single and having fun. Verbal abuse is simply verbal abuse and is never funny.
