Hello my name is Garrett Stephens I am 27,an actor and a I just want to say how much I enjoy your comic strip. I've been reading it since i was 10 and It's the first strip I read when I pick up the paper. I have read all the strips and watched all the episodes of the show. Mrs. Lynn I don't know how often you hear this but thank you for your comic. After I finished reading it I thought back to when i was a kid and then I called my mother and asked her "Mom have I ever thanked you for putting up with me?" and I thanked her. I just wanted to say how much I enjoy the Patterson's and I am glad they are still around I hope hear back form you but I'm just happy to say thanks and keep up the wonderful work.

Unequality between the sexes was a given in "those" days. In some cultures, men are the important ones and women take a step back. As a female of the 50s, I was taught that "girls grow up and get married and have babies", it was the mindset of our mothers and those that came before them. Luckily, some of those females "broke through the barrier" and created their own lives, going against the grain.
