Here's an example of where I redrew the last panel for republication. If I suggested that spanking was a disciplinary tactic in our home, I got mail. Rarely did things get so out of hand! There were times, however, when a swat happened and was more of a blow to the ego than a sting on the behind. Still, any "violent" image was seriously frowned upon by my readers — who in the crafted and edited world of cartoons, preferred clever commentary to a loss of control.| Sun | Mon | Tue | Wed | Thu | Fri | Sat |

Need a little plastic plumber? He hangs around in his stylin' shorts to make you smile.
Our new treasury book, Making Ends Meet, is now available. Catch up with the Pattersons! (Features Lynnn's reminiscences and exclusive family photos).
Actually, I like the original better. That's the one I originally saw, and that speaks more of a realistic family to me than the "Time-out". A quick swat to the behind when we were being blatantly bad never did us any harm, and frankly, Lynne, if your readers protested, I think you should have told them they they were free to discipline their own kids any way they wanted, but to kindly keep their noses out of how you handled your fictional family.
Your strip is more than popular enough to withstand a couple of busybody readers getting in a snit over real-life-style events, and it still has that same popularity. If it was just me, I'd say leave the spank in.
