Lynn's Notes:

On really hot days, my folks would put the sprinkler on, and my brother and I would play all day in the spray. We did the same thing for our kids. One hot summer day, while walking to a friend's house, I saw a sprinkler and thought, "if I was five years old I'd run through that thing in a heartbeat!" Then I thought..."Why can't I do it now?" So, I did.

Ages ago when my kids were little, (and life was still simple, it seems like) my neighbor called and asked me to send her son home for dinner, and I did. Shortly, she called me back, asking "Was Johnny naked when he left your house?" It turned out that rather than just crossing the street (we lived at the end of a cul-de-sac) he had taken off his clothes - so they wouldn't get wet - and gone through everyone's sprinkler at the end of our circle!

Thank you for reminding me of the importance of not forgetting my childhood. I appreciate it.
