Lynn's Notes:
I loved making up names. When I thought up the word Grubberware, it immediately conjured up the idea of a party where toilet brushes, rubber gloves, plungers, and other unattractive bathroom cleaning stuff would be displayed and sold. This meant I could draw toilet-related stuff (which was rather discouraged) and possibly get away with it. I guess there's a part of me that will always want to bug the guy in charge.Comments On This Entry

RE: making up names for the strip--And you were SO VERY good at it!! Memorable is the name of
the adolescent Michael's favorite band (Emetix), as well as a long list of goofy movie titles at the Cineplex, as well as a list of ice cream flavors or sundaes when Jim & Iris (I think!) were on a date.
It was always fun to look for the subtleties in the strip. That's subtle-tees, not sub-titles!
I too love to read the very punny signage: cereals called Choco Soggs, coffee choices of the most absurd varieties, burger menus guaranteed to send you to the salad bar. I come from a family of punners and Lynn's imaginative use of language keeps me chuckling. Thankyou!
