Lynn's Comments: I thought I had booked two bedrooms, but in error I'd booked "roomettes". These tiny spaces had a bench seat, which converted to a single bed for sleeping, under which - inconveniently stored - was...the loo. I had planned for the "boys" to share one compartment; Katie and I would share the other. The roomettes were so confining, however, that in order for us all to fit, the kids were exchanged. Kate stayed with her dad and Aaron stayed with me.

Lynn's Comments: Still, I wanted to do a storyline in which Elly got to travel by herself on a purposeful mission. I thought it might be reasonable to assume that her value to the library would lead to her going on this trip. Not so!

Lynn's Comments: For a while I was under the impression that clothing for speaking engagements and other business attire was considered a business expense, and therefore, tax deductible. It wasn't. I should have asked my accountant for advice before having so much fun at my favorite clothing shops!

Lynn's Comments: My husband and I actually took a ballroom dancing class. He was not enthusiastic, but we attended so many functions where a dance came after the dinner that we felt left out if we didn't join in. After a few lessons, we got pretty good at a few steps and it made a wonderful difference when opportunities to dance came along. What a graceful and elegant thing to be able to do! Nowadays, people just gyrate around to something like wailing and thumping. Whatever happened to the art of ballroom dancing?
