Lynn's Comments: It's true. I loved every gift my kids gave me--especially the ones that were made by hand!

Lynn's Comments: I remember waking up on the morning of January first hoping to see something new--anything that would tell me that a new year had begun. This is when I became interested in calendars. My first calendar was courtesy of the BC dairy farmers who sent one to all their customers. It had a cow on the top, and stapled to the base were the twelve months of the year--ready to be written on and torn away. I must have been around six because I could write well and I remember making notes on each month--like a grown up.

Lynn's Comments: I guess aerobics was one of the first sort of "dancercise" workouts designed to coerce exercise-resistant pork-butts like me to get up and move. I did go to the YMCA here and sign on for one aerobics class, but, WHOA! .... It was such hard work! Still, in a group setting like this, you're far more likely to put in some effort. The downside of doing aerobics at home... is being caught in the act by someone with a lethal sense of humour.

Lynn's Comments: I would occasionally use the floor of my studio if I had larger illustrations to sort through--or to dry. Art supplies are a magnet for kids, and mine were often in the room looking for scrap paper and other things they were allowed to have. One time I did have posters drying on the floor and Katie did accidentally walk on them. Fortunately they were dry, but she was so upset, she cried. Today she is an artist, too--so even then, she had respect for original art!

Lynn's Comments: I gave Aaron this lecture and then watched as he welcomed his guests into the house. The first thing they did, of course, was to hand him their gifts so they could take off their shoes and jackets. He grabbed for the gifts and had the last laugh again.

Lynn's Comments: I love yard sales.

Lynn's Comments: The town's mine was closing and many people were forced to move. Despite the fact that we were all trying to downsize, Ruth had a fantastic turnout--her sale was like Christmas and Halloween and everyone's birthday rolled into one. If you didn't want or need a thing, you had to be there--it wasn't just a sale, it was an event! In typical Ruth fashion, she provided an assortment of homemade goodies--she was a great hostess. In the end, her hard work paid off!

Lynn's Comments: This is the story of my life. As a non-sleeper, I am often reading or doing my mail in the middle of the night. Oddly enough, when I have an early morning deadline, I manage to sleep so soundly that I am comatose when the alarm goes off. Strange stuff!
